What is the best Laptop Lap Desk?

Asked by Skippy (2166points) November 22nd, 2009

I’ve seen a nice one at Brookstone, an e-laptop desk.
I would like one that has a pillow/soft bottom that sits on your legs.

Anyone have experience on what will hold up well?

Pretty much all the same….

Make sure whatever you get has good air circulation for your computer otherwise you risk overheating. Something my mom had an issue with when she got one. she had to buy a special board with little grooves all over it in order to keep her comp from getting too hot.

Thanx @bright_eyes00 I’m tired of my legs getting hot! didn’t think about watching the product for grooves…

@Skippy I always just use a big textbook like for math or something because i’m too cheap to actually purchase an item designed for my laptop. LOL

A flat cookie sheet and a pillow. That’s what I do at home. Traveling, I rarely use my laptop without a desk or table. In a pinch I could use the laptop case.

When we travel in our RV, my husband and I each use a 14” X 20” plastic carving board from Walmart. They are cheap and very durable. We have used ours for about eight years, and they are still as good as new. They’re not flashy but they are functional. They even accommodate a mouse pad and mouse.
