Where is the key fob receiver located on my nissan frontier?

Asked by lugnut (1points) November 24th, 2009

The key fob on my 2002 Nissan Frontier is not working I’ve replaced the batteries in the remote and checked the fuses, I think the reciever may be damaged but I don’t know where it is located on the vehicle.

key fob receiver? did you check the coast?

hmm.. what’s fob? is that your command start?
have you tried sticking your key in the ignition and turning the car to ON (without starting it) and back to OFF 5 times in a row? that might get it working again… i mean, assuming you’re talking about command start.

I believe the receiver is under the front seat, where the diagnostics box is. At least, that’s where it is in my Nissan, but I have a 2000. FYI, I believe the dealership can reset this for you if that’s the problem, and if you have a decent dealer who wants repeat business, they’ll do it for free.
