Are there any gloves that will let me use my iPhone?

Asked by amnorvend (272points) December 5th, 2009

Every morning, I go for an hour walk. While I walk, I listen to my iPhone. It’s getting somewhat cold out, so I would like to start wearing gloves. However, as it turns out, I can’t use the iPhone’s touch screen while I have gloves on.

Is there any solution to this problem (aside from taking the glove off every time I use the touch screen)?

You might want to try a pair of photography gloves

This will work.

@kevbo, that’s a cool idea! That would make a great Christmas gift for iPhone-toting friends.

True, huh? Glad to help you tick a few off your list! ;-)

Hobo gloves might be a less expensive option.

I really, really like the super cute gloves that are fingerless gloves with a mitten end attached (“convertible gloves”). These are the ones I have (actually, I got them from UO, but I have them in green on green stripes which is super cute).

@EmpressPixie I love my hobo gloves, they are my very, very favorite! When I was searching for something to post in my link, I found a couple of knitting patterns, now I am really tempted to try to knit a pair!

I have an old pair of leather golf gloves that work on the iPhone screen. Stop by a second hand used sports equipment store or thrift shop and try it out.

Man if only you could watch the Gadget Show! North Face do a pair that have a metal like substance in the fingertips which allow you to use a touchscreen phone. They cost about £20 and you can see them in action at www.five.co.uk/gadgetshow.
