Ahh. You need special app store credit. Are you having problems downloading the free apps?

No, you can also purchase iTunes gift cards in the store with cash and use the code to purchase apps and music.

I got an iTunes card i’m trying to download a 2 dollar app and it says I have to verify payment options and won’t let me download it even though I have money on the account

It makes it easier, but as @eponymoushipster pointed out, you can also buy gift cards with cash, etc. I always pay with my debit card so I don’t know if people have problems with gift cards or other forms of payment.

@disturbed_broken at what point in the process is it saying that? also, did you previously have a credit card associated with that account?

disturbed_broken's avatar

It says buy now
I click on buy now and then it says to verify
and no this Is the first time I’m using this ipod

eponymoushipster's avatar

@disturbed_broken so do you have an itunes account at all?

disturbed_broken's avatar

Yeah, I made one and added 15$ iTunes card

eponymoushipster's avatar

Ok, so i’m assuming that when you created the account, you chose “None” when it asked for a credit card number. is this correct?

Also, does the $15 worth of credits show up next to your name in iTunes?

eponymoushipster's avatar

Ok. So when it says to verify, what options does it provide you?

disturbed_broken's avatar

Ok it says
are you sure you want to download this app?
I click yes
payment info required
I enter password
it says to edit payment info
I click done
and it takes me to main screen

eponymoushipster's avatar

Ok, so go to “Edit My iTunes Account” in iTunes under “Store” in the menubar. Enter your password, and click “Edit Paymeny Info”. Make sure you have “None” checked, and that your address is entered.

Save that, and try to download again.

disturbed_broken's avatar

Thanks, I did that and it did the same thing though.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@disturbed_broken that sounds like something is set improperly. When you select “None” it should prompt for iTunes gift card codes below that. No “Verification”.

is it a legal iTunes code?

disturbed_broken's avatar

Yes I tried to download a song and it worked then I tried the app again and It didn’t work

eponymoushipster's avatar

Is it a free app, or a pay one? Also, where did you get the code?

disturbed_broken's avatar

iTunes card from futureshop
and I’m trying to download JD reflect it’s 2$

eponymoushipster's avatar

@disturbed_broken Hrm. OK. Now, did you get the account verification email from iTunes and act on that?

disturbed_broken's avatar

I think I’m going to phone apple in the morning
thanks for the help!!!
