Is there a way to put a laptop DVD player in a universal setting so it can play both European and US DVDs?

Asked by annamarie703 (33points) December 24th, 2009

Normally on laptop DVD players you have to switch each time you want to play a DVD from a different region. I would like to be able to put it in a universal setting so I dont have to switch it back and forth, because eventually it gets stuck in one setting. Is this possible?

Try using VLC. As far as I know it ignores all region settings. It will play pretty much anything.

For that I would give http://handbrake.fr/ a try.
