What is the best program for creating/mixing music on my computer?

I heard fruity loops is good but what is the best?

i geuss you have a p.c. Cool pro edit is cheap and very easy to use. its gives you damn good sound qaulity also. you just need to be willing to learn the program. but if you need beats fruity loops is the way to go. you can record vocals, just get a good mic and be willing to learn the program.

for mac i use logic 8. its complicated to learn and takes many hours of just playing with, to learn the program. Logic is expensive, but the mac already comes with a program called garage band that is pretty good also.

yeah you know i see a lot of dj’s using Macs, I know it has the garage band program but im not sure if this is what they are all usin or what.

Mac: Logic Studio
Mac and/or PC: Ableton Live (especially when used with a MIDI controller like the Akai APC40).

I once had a copy of Fruity Loops, and it has more than you can even think of in terms of capability. And that is not including the add-ons and plug-ins. It is a full-on multi-voice programmable synthesizer, very intuitive but with a steep learning curve (at least for non-musical me).
