How Barack Obama Is Paving the Way for a Palin Presidency?

Asked by Pandora (32210points) January 25th, 2010

I saw this head line in an article and needless to say, I thought the article was full of a lot of holes but someone commenting said that it is possible for Palin to win precidency in 2012 just because there will be people voting against Obama. I don’t think its possible simply because republicans will certainly find a better canidate, and I don’t think they will risk losing by putting her in the mix. Many still feel McCain lost primarily because she was on the ticket. Do any of you think she would have a chance? And if so, why?

If she does win, then I really will be moving. I can deal with someone who messes up, or has the “good initiative poor execution” style, but I cant deal with a complete dumb ass…

I honestly don’t believe Palin has enough support from either party. If we stop paying so much attention to her, she’d probably disappear completely.

Bush did more to pave the way for Obama’s presidency. Obama is still a long way from doing the same for Palin.

I just read that very article on MSN.com and wasn’t sure how much faith to put into it. If Obama carries on a lackluster presidency for 4 years, that’s not a guarantee for Palin in 2012 by any means. So many variables have to occur, and many in just the right way in her favor, for Sarah Palin to be the next president. I’m not holding my breath and I’m not voting for her if she makes it that far.

He’s not. Simple as that. Not much could pave the way for a Palin presidency.

Unless we’re talking about Michael Palin from Monty Python…

@ubersiren If only. Only fox news isn’t done rubbing in our faces how close we came to getting her as vice president. (I’m getting goose bumps all over. I think someone walked over my grave,)

All in favor of picking from an entirely new group of potential candidates?

—@ubersiren. Agreed.
Only I’m not giving up on Obama. I’ll wait and see how the 4 years go. But in all fairness, I don’t think with the big mess we have anyone would’ve had a fair shot of doing much in 4 years to repair the economy.

I like @dverhey‘s idea of running Michael Palin…

Putting Palin on the ticket is the only sure way to pave the way for Obama in 2012.

Palin can’t win. She is a moron, a flake, and a woman. Republicans don’t vote for women.

I don’t think the Republicans would elect her in the primaries, but yes I think that voters sometimes vote just to get rid of what is in office now, or as a reaction. I think Bush won because of the scandal with Monica Lewinsky. Bush ran on family values and normal guy bullshit.

Palin ran to counter Hillary Clinton, to pick up the disgruntled Clinton supporters. I do not see her running for president. Not in 2012. Not ever.

Honestly, I think Palin knows she cannot handle the presidency.

By now many people know that Palin is one of the most ignorant persons on this planet. I can’t imagine that the Republican Party will nominate her again.

Never overestimate them…

I was thinking about this more. If it is sold to Palin that she doesn’t really need to know what she is doing, that in the end the President is just a figure head, then I could see that I might be wrong and she would feel she could do it. I also think if the people high up in the party ask her, if they believe she could win, she will try.

@Dr_Dredd Dude, even we are like ” Heh… B***h is dumb… Seeing Russia, ridding moose… Right..”

@JLeslie You know what, you may be right. I remember a time, during the Reagan Presidency, that I thought there was no way George H. W. Bush could be president. Since then Both he and his son have been in office.
