What do you think of the concept behind the new film, Knockout?

Asked by davidk (1432points) January 26th, 2010

Are movie goers ready for a female version of James Bond? I think it is about time. Yesterday I read this article about the film:
http://www.businessandleadership.com/life/news/article/19182/life/soderbergh-movie-set-to-begin-filming-in-dublin

My feelings about Gina Carano in this role are complicated. She obviously could kick some serious ass. At the same time, she is essentially feminine.

The concept sounds interesting, but when the lead has no acting experience, I fear for the quality of the film.

I think it is great. I always like strong female characters. I enjoyed the last two Bond movies, and if this movie is comparable, but with a strong female lead, I will love it.
@marinelife If you don’t care, why go to the trouble of answering. And ‘Who cares’ is a question, not a statement.

I agree with you about the strong female characters(s), especially in Casino Royale. Honestly, the on screen chemistry between Daniel Craig and Eva Green was the best in all of the bond movies. As far as I’m concerned Eva Green was beyond being a “bond girl”. Refreshingly, she was her own person!

I agree with @stump

It’s sad that you even have to ask this question. I would hope as time goes on, an ass-kicking woman who carries herself however “girly” she wants to will be less remarked upon because it’d be common and OK.

@aprilsimnel @davidk I myself will always remark on girly ass-kicking women, ‘cause I love’em!
