Is there such a thing as "Night Court"?

Asked by Pretty_Lilly (4660points) February 4th, 2010

I have seen the old TV show “Night court” and have always wondered if there’s such thing as court held at night and what would be the purpose of it instead of just making everyone wait until the next day ?

In NY there is. There’s too much on the docket in the city. They have to work at night or stuff would get backed up for years sometimes.

There definitely is in NY City, which is where the show was set.

Years ago when I was teaching in Bklyn. I was really glad it existed. I got a speeding ticket and I was very glad I didn’t have to take off a whole day from work just because of it.

I’m sure there are many other working folks who are glad that night court is an option so they don’t have to go to the expense of taking a day off from work either.
