For those who have seen "A Single Man," can you ID the little black-headed terriers for me?

This film (starring Colin Firth and opening in the UK on Friday), is worth seeing if you are interested in homosexuality in the 1960’s, stylish men’s wear, architecture, acting of an extraordinary high caliber, Christopher Isherwood’s writing, and one form of enduring love.

Fox terriers. What a beautiful movie that was.

I haven’t seen the movie, but I just looked at a clip. It looks like a Jack Russell terrier.

I was going to go with Jack Russells, but I read a review that said they were fox terriers and I think that’s right. A lovely film but I fouond the pace just a little…too…slow.

@janbb I agree, it was extremely slow, not to mention depressing! But visually it was very beautiful, which is 50%-80% of what I care about. :)

The Firth character sniffs the head of one of the dogs and says it smells like “buttered toast.”

And thank you. I just checked a picture of a smooth fox terrier. Spot-on.

A bit late I know, but they were definitely smooth fox terriers. I have one – they are the cutest and naughtiest dogs in the world!
