Would it be wise to film a let's say 30sec.video clip to help pitch an idea for a commercial to a company?

Should I patent this idea first than start from there or just try selling it? I have an idea for a beer commercial. No specific company. Just a good idea.

Then the best way to get their attention is to film the video and put it up on youtube. When it gets a following, then a major beer company is likely to come knocking on your door.

You want to patent your idea for a commercial? Good luck.

I agree with @marinelife. You should put your idea on youtube. At least if it is used you can show that you had the original idea.
