Why does my anti-virus program go wild whenever I go to google song lyrics?

I merely enter a song or line from a song into the google search box and click the stupid magnifying glass icon and poof…My anti-virus goes wild…Bells, Alarms, Lights

The most important factor here is: what anti-virus program (including version) are you using?

In my expert opinion, I think that perhaps it wants you to listen to the songs and figure out the lyrics yourself. Either that or one of the popular websites that usually comes up as a result is flagged as potentially dangerous to your anti-virus program.

ah yes, it is webroot. @Evan

Good point, @jfos

I use McAfee and it flags a lot of lyrics websites as dangerous.

I wonder why? Is it malicious coding, or just close to malicious?

It varies. Sometimes its popup ads for dodgy things. Sometimes it flags links to downloads that might be adware or spyware or something like that. I think you can download McAfee Site Advisor as a free plugin for firefox and it’l tell you which ones are rated OK and which are risky.
