Has President Obama "really made a difference" or is he stuck in neutral?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) March 10th, 2010

To my knowledge, President Obama has only been successful in two areas: the Stimulus Package and the Green idea. why is the president having such a difficult time getting the Healthcare Program passed? is it Congress or is it the American people who are resisting so much? Does President Obama have a current popularity rating? what exactly is wrong with President Obama and his ability to lead the people?

I’ll take neutral over going backwards.

Presidents are just puppets. You can’t blame much on them. The system is flawed.

I don’t consider anything he has done thus far to be a success.

It is not him that is the problem really, but us the people who keep electing people like him that don’t represent or fight for our best interests.

@silverfly Excellent.

I always laugh when I read or hear how all these people really think/thought Obama was some sort of hero come to save us.
He is no more than a politician…and one mired in Chicago politics. He sold out years ago to get where he is.

For some reason 60% became the new majority. I think he is tired of dealing with the opposition party. And they will start pushing through things with Reconciliation. It is what Bush used to pass his crazy shit.

He’s only been in office for a little over a year and he inherited a number of major problems. It may really be too soon to tell whether he is succeeding or failing. He’s neither an autocrat nor a magician. He can’t take office and simply make things happen by fiat.

He’s been trying to shift into D, but the guys that live here keep screwing with the gear change.
