"Swooping swallows chased by violins..." . Are there any fans out there?

I would say that the phrase does not make much sense. I think the alliteration is trite and don’t get how violins can chase swallows.

@gailcalled It makes beautiful sense when viewed from the proper perspective. I hope that you might come to agree.

You’re partially correct. The verses in context have some interesting conceits and some very nice lines. Also some pedestrian lines, but on balance, far superior to most of present-day lyrics.

And I surmise that they are lyrics and not poetry, meant to stand alone.
