Will a ps3 slim be better without surround sound when hooked to a full HD LCD TV?

I want to save for a home theatre system and I only have a small bedroom. I am getting a ps3 slim with full HD LCD tv this year and I want to know when you are listening to Blu-rays on Full HD with Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA soundtracks would it sound better in a larger room than a small room?

It would depend on the speaker placement and the accoustics of the room.
