My first period was kind of akward. And yours?Oh and how do you shower when on your period? And I read its good to get rid of pubes before your peroid because then it could get full of blood. Is that true?

It was hilarious because it was summer and there were flies everywhere and I’ve been waiting for my period for a while (I was quite the edumacated little teen, that’s for sure) and I thought flies were coming out of there as well but I was just confused in the excitement.

My first period was just annoying to me. We were cleaning up my aunt’s house after she had passed away. It was summer time and we were all really hot. Add all that to starting your period and not having anything there for it and I was just really annoyed. As far as showering, I leave a tampon in while showering and then change it after my shower (because it can get wet and that can affect it’s absorbency). If you aren’t using tampons, just shower like normal. As far as getting rid of your “pubes”, that’s all about personal preference. If you use tampons and change them regularly (like you are supposed to), you won’t get blood in your hair. If you aren’t using tampons, then yes, you can get blood in the hair, but it isn’t anything that a shower (or just a wipe down if you are in a hurry) won’t take care of.

I forgot to answer some of your other qs… I shower without putting anything up there – it’s just blood, it’s mine, why would I care? And I don’t shave ever and nothing gets full of blood.

You don’t need to change the way you shower nor do you need to shave. Menstruating is a natural part of a woman’s life and her body needs no altering to accommodate the monthly period.

It was absolutely awful. I saw blood in my underwear the first day when I got home from school. No big deal…the bleeding was very light so I just had a pantyliner on. I went to school the next day also wearing a pantyliner, not knowing how heavy it would get.

I told my friends it feels really wet (they’d all got their periods) and they all just brushed me off saying “Oh it always feels that way! You’re fine!”
But it felt uncomfortably wet, so I asked my friend in homeroom to see if I bled through my jeans (luckily they were dark). She was a bitch and was all like, “Ewww I’m not gonna look!”
So I went to the bathroom… pulled down my pants to see a fucking RIVER in there. I panicked, wandered into the hallway, crying. Ran into a friend who took me to the nurse. Got a pad, had to call my mom for a change of clothes and ended up just going home. Bad day.

It was very light. I was actually not sure what was happening, even though I knew about periods..but it was just soo light and lasted only like, two or three days. I thought “that’s it?” then nothing happened the next month, then wam! I got real periods. It sucked. lol

I do not shave because of blood, it doesn’t get stuck anywhere… I also don’t wear anything in the shower (no tampon at all) I actually dislike tampons in general though. I just wash off anything if it comes out. I don’t really have a heavy flow though.

@casheroo I dont like ampons either. and @le inferno mine was kind of like that. But it all happened in one day and then it gradually got heavier each day.I freaked out the first time I had to change my pad because it was durning school and I only had 1 other friend who got hers. All the guys were dumb so it was really weired. As you can guess I got it during elementary/middle school.T o be specific I got
it when I was 11 years old in the 6th grade.Akward day.
