What kind of lift kit should I get for my truck(s)?

Asked by Jeremycw1 (1370points) May 15th, 2010

I am looking into getting a lift (probably about 3–5 inches, but I don’t know for sure) for my 2001 Ford Ranger (4X4, auto, supercab). I don’t know whether I should get a suspension lift or a body lift. Also, I don’t know where to get it from. Could someone give me some advice? (and maybe a website?) Thanks.

(my friend who drives a 1997 Dodge Dakota manual 4X4 supercab, wants the same thing. But I’m sure they probably have lifts at the same place I would find mine)

Thank you so much for any advice!

Youd probably want both. A 3 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body. Go to www.4wheelparts.com

Good for you actually lifting 4×4s. I see so many lifted 4×2 trucks in my city and it pisses me off.
