A song that moved you recently?

Asked by zenele (8257points) July 5th, 2010

Not what you’re listening to right now, not what you heard recently and liked. Something powerful, emotional – a song that had recently given you goose bumps is what I’m looking for.

Maybe it’s the when and the where. maybe it’s the why and not the song, but I want to hear (clips and links welcome) what made your hairs stand on end.

Love Reign O’er Me by Bettye LaVette. It was performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in Dec. 2009, but I just heard it.

I will be by Wynonna Judd. I heard it for the first time at the end of a tv show that I watch. I guess it spoke to me because of the situation I’m in right now.

@zenele I love that song. It’s giving me goosebumps now. :-)
@lucillelucillelucille I’ve never heard that song before. It’s a good one!
@AustieZ Great find. Never heard it before.
@marinelife Great song.

This Walter Jackson song is so touching to me. (As are many of his songs). The words (though sad) are so emotional ‘my mind won’t remember, but my heart will know’. Haven’t so many of us been there and still are.

^ She’s one of the 80’s survivors who has changed the most and experimented tremendously. Dulcimer? Get outta here – from Girls Just Wanna Have Fun to Jazz to World… even if you don’t like her style gotta give her credit.

Caledonia sang by Ruth Notman. I heard it on the radio a week ago for the first time and fell in love with it straight away.
