What is your favorite breed of dog?

Asked by naconasong (371points) July 26th, 2010

I love all dogs I have had big ones and small ones! Right now I have two that are husky mix. One has blue eyes and looks like a husky and his sister looks like a shepherd but looks more like a wolf.

The proud and mighty wolf. (yes, I know it is not technically a dog, but whatever.)

We have a Golden Retriever, and he is a very good dog. He is very easy to train and very loving. That is my favorite type of dog.

I love poodles. Smart, easy going, easy to train and they don’t shed.

I’ve always been partial to big dogs with lots of fur, but recently, I really adore my rescue dog, a short hair Queensland Heeler.

Oh, too many to mention. But right now, Maltese as that is what I have right now.
I also love, Setters, Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire terriers, Great Danes, German Shepards, Pinchers. There are so many but family members are alergic to a lot of them and Maltese are pretty allergy free.

I love Rottweilers. Depending on how they are raised, they can be the most loving gentle giants.

Whichever one is small and fluffy with a super long tail, has whiskers and says meow.

@Austinlad – Yeah, me too. But for giggles, I took the Animal Planet Dog Selector Quiz to help me decide, and wouldn’t you know it? English Setter is my ideal breed.

Siberian huskies and bulldogs.

Lab/ Pyrenees hybrid and mutts in general. I know that’s not a real breed but you gotta just love a mutt. They love you right back.

I can’t choose just one but amongst my favourite breeds are: German Shepherds, Bull Terriers (of all shapes and sizes), Rottweilers, Jack Russell Terriers, Flatcoated Retrievers, Field Spaniels and Bloodhounds.

A Chesapeake Bay Retriever will be my next hiking companion.

I’ve always loved dogs that look like wolves – huskies, malamutes, German Shepherds. But having a labrador has definitely hooked me on the breed, just for their personality and temperament.

Bichons, Maltese, Shitzus and mixes of those three. I like big dogs too but I can’t pick them up to bathe them in the laundry room sink.
If I could ONLY have a big dog? An Australian Shepherd w/blue eyes.

Italian greyhounds. I have one, Piccolo, that means the world to me. They are such under-rated dogs. I do not personally know anyone else who has one and I have no idea why they haven’t caught on more. They are wonderful and adorable dogs.
