& the musicians are looking to sell music to pay the bills.

If you can’t afford it, then save up for it & buy the albums when you have the cash. Otherwise, use sites like Pandora to listen to music for free. Or you can listen to the song on youtube – you can find any song on that site & listen to it as many times as you want, for free.

Legally? Not so much. Legal gray area? The Pirate Bay is a great place to start.

Finding a good Youtube downloader and then using a converter to extract the music files apparently leaves one less open to pirating criticism.

I’m saying that based upon my observations of nobody batting an eyelash about doing it that way in previous Qs on Fluther.

So, go the Youtube route if you dislike being frowned at for piracy. Of course it makes no logical sense, but…....

Albumhunt.com it pretty awesome. You sign up and you don’t have to do anything. Although their selection isn’t the greatest.

You can also download the grooveshark downloader (here) if you have a pc (idk if macs have one…)
