What are good halloween costumes?

One year, I took a sweat suit and stitched a sock, t-shirt, hankie, and a pair of underpants on it in various places. I teased my hair and spiked it up a bit and, Ta Da!...I was Static Cling.

Another time, I borrowed my older brother’s old Boy Scout uniform and wore glasses instead of contacts. Pretty much everyone did a double-take (as I’m female.)

LOL! I dated a black guy for quite a while who was born and raised in Selma Alabama (yes…he witnessed the march from Selma to Montgomery. He was 10 at the time.) He told me they never made a big deal out of costumes. He said, “We just threw a white sheet over ourselves.”
I said, “You went as the KKK?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” :) I thought it was a funny joke!!

familyfun.com has some great costume ideas that can be adapted to adults. Last year, one of the best we saw was The Paperbag Princess, the dress made out of a brown paper leaf bag.

Kermit’s easy to make out of green sweats, and some felt.

Attach two kites to the back and front of a t-shirt – “higher than a kite.”

Zombies are always good. Zombie Prom is coming up in a lot of cities. You can get double duty out of a good zombie outfit.

Go as a biker. hobo, or a hooker.

Gadzooks! You can take a unitard and hot glue candy wrappers and such on to ir and make a tutu of shredded brown paper bags and go as the “garbage fairy”.

Get a black men’s suit, black tie, and chrips white shirt, add a bluetooth like ear piece with dark shades and wear a name tag that says “IMB agent ‘Z’”. If you are a female you might get double takes sepecially if you tuck your hair in or make it look like a man’s hair.

If you are male you might want to pass on the 1st one.

Go as a hobo. Sew patches on overalls or something. Also, to make a beard rub Vaseline on your face in the shape of a beard and pat coffee grounds on it. :)

One year I decided I didn’t want to dress up because my friends weren’t going to a party where they have rides and stuff. Well, last minute they called me and told me they were on their way to pick me up. I started panicking because I didn’t have a costume. I went into my kitchen, got three different cereal boxes (captain crunch, trix, and count chocula), ripped them up, stuck my dogs metal leash through the boxes and went as a “Cereal Killer” lol. (:

My friends are all gung-ho for that darn Pilgrim Scott movie and I am supposed to be some girl named Romana or something this year. I’m still iffy about it.
