Each year we gather together ourselves and the dogs. Usually in a picturesque setting and try to get all to hold still long enough for the photo. There are many pics of my back as I hurry to run from the camera on tripod to get into the photo. It seems a very integral part of the holidays! Here is ours for 2009. Me and my mate on a big termite hill, Bird Dog on her own termite hill and Red Dog and Town Dog at our side. Let’s see yours and hear your stories.

“Chrissy” means Christmas! I’m a little slow on the uptake sometimes.
I thought we were going to see more dog pictures. Whic is a good thing in my book.

@gailcalled – That is my little Bird Dog, she thinks she is a rottweiler. Actually if she were a rott, we would have had to put her down years ago, hehehe. We are pleased that you and Milo enjoyed her balancing act.
Ah, I remember the year we took the Christmas pic, then went and had 100 copies made.
I then began stuffing envelopes, and only then noticed my fly was down.

I love your doggies. Are you aware that the most prominent part of the photo initially is those blazing shorts? Really funny.
@Buttonstc – yes I noticed that and I was going to photoshop them down a bit but then didn’t bother. The sun was shining through the trees and just happened to hit me there and illuminate my already pretty luminous shorts, heheheh. Least I am not as bad as @filmfann, my fly was velcroed shut!!!
Yeah, at least you can manage to dress yourself. Filmfann still needs his Momma to supervise, he he. Just kidding FF,
I spent the majority of my teaching years reminding my 3rd grade boys about the same thing. I would just ask them, “What do airplanes do?”
And when they answered, I’d just say, check yours. After a while, they all recognized the question and took care of business without bothering to answer. :)
BTW. I don’t want to hijack this thread, but does anyone know of a site to which one can post a pic from the iPhone? I took a pic of Smoochie with a nice red background but can’t export it anywhere else other than an email.
imgur.com says it now has an iphone app, so I assume you could there.
I have not yet acquired an iphone. I bet I will when we get back to civilization!!!

@Buttonstc Not long!! It took me about 5 minutes to get him to cooperate long enough to take the picture. Worth it, though!

But since I’m the self-appointed Queen of Free Apps, Photobucket will be getting my business. But had it not been for your reco I wouldn’t have found it.
I also found a free app
enabling me to find Pho (
Vietnamese soup) in any part of the world. Ah, the wonders of the iPhone !
Anyhow, as soon as I do the 3.0 update required, I’ll post my little Smoochie.
@Buttonstc – pho is one of my all time favorites. There is a Vietnamese restaurant in Darwin and every time I go in, I have it with chicken and rice noodles, of course the sprouts and chilis and some basil leaves plus I like a hit of hoi sin sauce. I don’t think they quite approve of that, but I tip well so they humor me, heheheh.
My other favorite is fish with lemongrass and chili, I forget the Vietnamese name for it. It is hard to decide which to have! I usually flip a coin.
I can’t imagine an app that tells you that, heheheh.
@gailcalled – yep I will give up the termite, snake, croc, etc. infested bush for civilization and an app that tells me where to get my soup!
@Buttonstc – you will have to check out Townsville Qld for me when we get on the road, heheheh.

Yeah, I should have updated to 3,0 by then. Lord knows I’ve been procastinating long enough.
I guarantee you are going to LOVE the iPhone. Everything but the typing. However, Dragon just came out with a free voice to text app so that should be incredible.
Let me know when you get your phone and I’ll steer you in the right direction for the best free apps. Prepare to be amazed at all the surprising capabilities they add.

We didn’t take a picture like that last year, but there is this picture of our livingroom on Christmas morning with the back of my head visible that I posted on wis.dm (sister took it and put it on Facebook—other than that, no other pictures were taken) :P
I’ll see about obtaining some kind of Chrissy photo for this year.
@DominicX – makes me miss a pine type Christmas tree. We have had palm trees for the last couple of years and it’s just not the same!!!

haha…thanks. That house is in San Francisco proper. But no, that house ain’t for sale. But we did have an elegant Christmas party there last week. You should’ve come. :)
