Do you have a song that you absolutely hate?

Asked by Trillian (21148points) November 2nd, 2010

This question was inspired by this one. And by my train of thought earlier today. I was vacuuming and for some unfathomable reason, I remembered George Thorogood and that wretched song; I drink alone. I hate it and all that he represents, which for me, is the worst of all possible character traits that a man can exhibit. I hate all of his stupid music, and I had that horrible song in my head most of the day.
I’m sure that a shrink would tell me that beause of my aversion to being around people who are drunk and my dislike of the sight and smell of tobacco, cigars in particular, that poor Mr. Thorogood is just a misunderstood soul who never stood a chance with me.
Is there any song or particular artist who seems like nails on a chalkboard to you? Who and why?

Yes, “All I want to do is have some fun”, by Sheryl Crowe, and “Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen. Both repetitive garbage IMHO

Shitty pop culture rap with no substance: Wocka Flocka, Lil Wayne, Soldier boy (Yes, I know that’s not how it’s spelled) etc.

[insert Pointer Sisters song here]

Most of justin bieber’s, lil wayne, nicki minaj, and most of the mainstream bubble gum hip-hop rap they have today.I totally miss the 90s and early 2000s hip-hop and rap.It was more real and some poetry.

Anything that Alannis Morrisette ever did.

Two songs that make me want to cover my ears are Cold Play’s “Viva La Vida” and Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Repetitive, bland, unoriginal, and annoying! I wonder “Is this what “artists” today have to offer??”

Could those of you who neglected the second part of the question please tell me some whys? @lucillelucillelucille , awwwwww, say it ain’t so! What did George ever do to you?
Except you @john65pennington. No need to explain a revulsion for Tiny Tim!

@Trillian I don’t like that music because the lyrics are not original and it seems like they do not even make an effort to show any skill. At least the rap of the 90s had a story or moral to it, they still displayed the love of women, cars, drugs etc, but it was more of a ‘We’re products of our environment, and this is our struggle’ as opposed to ‘I know these haters are mad because I have an expensive sports car and mad bitches, but I’m gettin’ moooneeeyyyy’ lol.

I don’t like anything by Rod Stewart—I can’t stand how sappy his songs are. I could pick just about any of them. But I’ll pick his Star Trek Enterprise theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3-nI1fA_fI

It REALLY annoys me that all of the Trek shows had very awesome and inspiring sounding classical sounds and then Enterprise had this prom theme reject.

The song that irks me the most is actually a tv commercial jingle. (Does that count?!) It is the song that is part of the commercial for Kars for Kids (1–877 Kars for Kids, K.A.R.S Kars for Kids…) It is the only song that actually prompts me to jump at the radio and change the station as soon as I hear the first one or two beats. Aargh!

I simply cannot stand this bloody garbage right here, although the song itself is fine; it’s just my seething hatred for anime talking, and the creepy fans who spend hours putting up countless bullshit vids to this.
