Would you join Big Brother?

Asked by seazen (6123points) January 26th, 2011

We’re only in our third season here – the prize is a million (250,000 bucks) but I think I’d rather do a survivor type reality show than sit around in a villa all day without tv and internet. I dunno.

What’s it called where you’re at?

What season is it?

Would you – could you – participate?

Will you be there? That could influence my decision.

Hey – we could start a Fluther/Big Brother

it even rhymes

Not even if they promised to make me win!

seazen's avatar

@ZEPHYRA Awww – come on. You are guaranteed to win a million bucks and you still wouldn’t – why is that?

Yes! so I could tell everyone there how uneducated and stupid they are, oh no wait, am I thinking of the right show?

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

Nah – I can’t deal with having to pretend to care about all those idiots during alliance building.

I’d like to be in the Big Brother house with Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortenson, Val Kilmer, Gerard Butler, Liam Neeson, Billy Boyd, Tom Sellek, Robert Pattinson, Paul Bettany, Alyssa Milano, Kiera Knightley and Demi Moore (with bald head and rock hard body from GI Jane).

NO…Not even if they put a gun to my head.

WestRiverrat's avatar

@coffeenut Would you do it if they let you hold the gun and decide who’s head to put it to?

I am too private a person. I would not do it.

coffeenut's avatar

@WestRiverrat lol…No, It would be a waste of my time.

I’ve been told I should be on that sort of show. Specifically, Survivor. At first I thought they’d never want someone like me, because I am a survivalist, so a lot of the troubles the people on the show had would be nothing. But then again, I do get into debates pretty easily.

I suppose I’d do something like that. There are worse ways to make a buck.

I can’t think of any set of circumstances or any situation for which I more intrinsically ill-suited in terms of my temperament, habits, nature and personality than being on Big Brother. Up until they “invented” the show there were things I wouldn’t be good at, circumstances I wouldn’t like, that would make me miserable and uncomfortable and things that I would fail to succeed at without question but until Big Brother there wasn’t anything that was so perfectly, so monumentally not for me . Even Survivor would be better and I wouldn’t like that. But at least on Survivor you can get away from every one every once in a while and the camera doesn’t follow you to the bathroom. So I guess the answer is no.

I wouldn’t wanna. But I suppose with incentive, anyone can love Big Brother. (See the reference, there?)

Well, I would, but they wouldn’t have me because all I would do is sit around and work on my needlepoint all day. I would also insist on visiting with my grandkids.

lillycoyote's avatar

@YARNLADY Yes, you are another candidate who, by temperment and habits, is ill suited to be on Big Brother. If caveats were allowed, sure, I might do it to. If they would turn the damn cameras off, if the other contestants would mind their own business and leave me alone and if they didn’t make me play those stupid games, and if I wasn’t essentially imprisoned in a really goofy house with a bunch of, depending on what suits them, manipulative, conniving and/or ass-kissing strangers, with no contact with my friends or family or the outside world for three months and if I could come and go as I please, sure, maybe I would do it to, but, like you, I don’t think they’d have me.

downtide's avatar

I would have done it in the very first season because I was interested in the psychology behind a bunch of strangers in an isolated situation. But not now. It’s like a torture-chamber, the things they make them do.

Big Brother aired it’s last series here in 2010. I would ever dream of going on a show like that, I would be bored and paranoid if I did.
