What category would you add to the Oscar's given the chance?

Asked by Joker94 (8180points) February 27th, 2011

The question pretty much summed it up. I know I’d add Best Voice Actor/Actress in a Leading Role ^.^

Best scene – so that a scene could win, even if the rest of the movie was shite.

Best outtakes.

@chyna That would be a terrific category. Sometimes the outtakes they show at the end of some movies (or on youtube) are better than the movie itself.

How about best screen kiss?

What’s with all these awards? They’re always giving out awards. Best Fascist Dictator: Adolf Hitler.

Best Movie That Nobody Has Heard of or Seen (Which seems to be about half of the Best Picture nominations). This year, the award goes to The King’s Speech.

@12Oaks Actually, pretty much everyone has heard of King’s Speech – right around Christmas it started to make some buzz.

I must be out of the loop. I never heard of that movie until it won at that other award show. I don’t go to movie houses, just don’t like the whole thing about them, so maybe that’s why I never hear of the movies up for awards.

@12Oaks Aha well if you don’t go to the movies on what do you judge what movies are being heard of and seen?

12Oaks's avatar

@sliceswiththings Well. I never heard anybody speak of that movie, saw an ad for it on the television or newspaper or even online. Never saw a billboard or anything of the like. The first I heard of that movie is when it won that Globe award.

Still, that could qualify for a movie. I never heard of this Kids Are All Right thing neither. I do know that The Spellman Files is being made just because I read and loved that book and may (likely not, though) go to a movie house for a viewing. Can’t see the point, though, as I already read all four books in that series.
