Do you have a special recipe for Choclate milk/hot chocolate?

Asked by Jellie (6492points) June 24th, 2011

I love hot chocolate but can never find a good brand in my city. I also hear it tastes much better with a pinch of salt.

How do you guys make your chocolate milk or hot chocolate?

1 Glass of milk
Chocolate syrup

Add chocolate syrup to milk. Add more chocolate syrup to milk. Stir. Then add some more chocolate syrup.

Mine is from a five star restaurant in Chicago. The chef was kind enough to share it with me.

This is for Butterscotch Hot Cocoa

½ Cup Brown Sugar
1 oz. Cornstarch
6 Tbl. Cocoa Powder Combine ingredients and blend well.

6 Cup Whole Milk
2 Cup Heavy Cream
¾ Cup Hersheys Syrup Add to above blending well. Heat to just below the boil to activate cornstarch. Enjoy!!!

To make the adult version, add one shot of Butterscotch Schnapps per cup

1 Bottle Yoo-Hoo

½ C sugar or substitute
¼ C Hershey’s cocoa
Dash salt
⅓ C hot water
4 Cs half & half
¾ tsp. vanilla extract

Mix sugar, cocoa and salt. Stir in hot water (we whisk over medium heat). Boil and stir two minutes. Stir in half and half and heat. Do not boil.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

The best hot chocolate comes from using my cappuccino steamer to steam the milk.

Hersey’s Syrup
Milk
2 Shots of Dr. McGillicuddy’s MenthoMint Schapps.

Tastes like a “York Patty”.

Believe it or not, my favorite is made with powdered milk and Nestles powdered chocolate. It just brings back memories of coming in out of the snow, exhausted, cold and very happy!

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Is there a name for your recipe?

TexasDude's avatar

@erichw1504 probably. I call it “Sweet Dreams Yoohoo” though.

Got to invest in some Hersheys chocolate

I get some Ibarra(chocolate) Mexican hot chocolate mix stuff. Mexican hot chocolate is vastly superior to regular hot chocolate. Except, on occasion, that Swiss hot chocolate this one spa hotel up in the mountains has.

Cadbury’s Hot choc has my heart. Ah, the simple pleasures.

I use a teaspoon of Fry’s cocoa, two teaspoons of sugar or Splenda and a teaspoon of milk.
I blend those ingredients for as long as it takes to make a fully smooth paste with no unblended cocoa power. I then add hot milk that has not boiled but is none the less very hot. I stir well and then I have the perfect hot chocolate. Adding whipped cream is optional.
