What key/etc. am I accidentally hitting and minimizing my screen?

Asked by BBSDTfamily (6839points) July 7th, 2011

On my new Toshiba laptop, my screen will seem to minimize on it’s own. If I’m on Excel for example, the words and cells will go really small and I’ll have to press “Undo” several times to get it back to normal. If I’m on a website, I press “Ctrl+” several times to get it back to normal. Am I doing something to cause this? I am wondering if there is a key combination or a key by itself that makes my screen do this…. it seems to do it by itself though! Please help!!

It sounds like the “Ctrl -” combination is being used. “Ctrl +” will enlarge it again. Give it a try, and let us know if that isn’t it.

zooming in and out is possible through ‘pinch’ gesture using two fingers on the touch pad..
maybe while working, you might be touching two distinct points on the touch pad..

use ‘ctrl’ + ’ 0 ’ key combination to zoom directly to normal size.

CTRL- and CTRL+ are how I’m getting back to normal screens… I am going to pay attention and see if the pinch gesture is what I’m doing, thank you!!!
