If we added an extra day within a week would we recover from recession or worsen?

Is the new day a week day or on the weekend?

Adding a new day to the work week means that we would be working more, 6/8 (¾) of the time instead of 5/7. This would improve the economy, but there would be no way to ever go back without trashing the economy back to the way it was originally. Adding a day to the weekend would be that we would be working less, 5/8 of the time instead of 5/7. This, just like any time when less work is being done, will hurt the economy.
