Has anyone had any experience with a travel company called Tradewinds Vacations? What was your experience like?

Asked by 2davidc8 (10189points) October 7th, 2011

Their website is www.tradewindsvacations.net. They claim to be able to offer deep discounts on travel because they are travel consolidators that (1) can buy in bulk and (2) can buy vacation weeks at timeshare condos that otherwise go unused. Kind of like what Grocery Outlet says they do with groceries, and Ross does with clothing.

Do you have any actual experience with these folks?

Scam. I just tried clicking their links in the upper right hand corner. I think the ”.net” is hoax because its “about me, contact,” links etc dont work well there is the same name with a ”.com” domain. I wouldn’t risk this kind of stuff. I mean in life, you get what you pay for.

I feel if something was so great, word would get around about how good they are, and everyone would have heard of them.

The links on the site don’t work, I would pass.

They told me that the reason the links don’t work is that it is a members-only site. They gave me a temporary login id/password so that I could check it out. They are:

id = bill
password = 1951

If you use these, you can get in.

What do you think?

Thanks, I was able to click through, and I didn’t see anything that isn’t already available at any particular time through the Choice Club (which I am a member of) or any of the other discount vacation sites. It changes from day to day, and you might be able to catch a specific bargain if you know the exact day and place you want.
