Do credit repair services actually work?

Asked by nocountry2 (3689points) May 13th, 2008 from iPhone

While bacpacking around the globe, I left my house under the care of a “reputable” property management company. Returned a year later to find out they had been late paying the mortgage SEVEN times….some of it got removed but my credit is still thrashed…just wondering if anybody has actually had any luck with this??

In short, it depends on the service. In the end though, it’s up to you to write the reporting agencies and dispute invalid information, and then go through the various method of increasing your score. If you haven’t already, keep a close eye on all 3 of your reports. I used a service online and review all 3 of my reports every couple months.
