What in your life is most important to you?

Asked by mitochondrian (138points) November 6th, 2011

A similar question to this was asked. It was “what should be the most important thing in someone’s life”. My question is more personal and is this:

“What is the most important thing in your life right now?”

For example, do you have a goal you want to reach or a relationship with a loved one you’d like to improve? Do you have a personal credo which you live by that you view as essential to you?

This open and objective question is for all people of all ages and walks of life. The reason I am asking is because lately I have a zen-like detachment from the need to define myself. Your thoughts may help me to orientate myself should I feel I am lacking.
Thank you very kindly for all you may contribute.

I don’t really have anything important, but right now, tryna do what’s best for my physical health. (quitting drinking; fuck the mental part, it was all buggered up to begin with anyways :D)

Most important to me in the immediate future is to enjoy the relationship I have right now in contrast to relationships before where I was waiting on something to happen in order for the relationship to be good enough in the present. Not sure how to articulate this but I’m trying to appreciate and slow time a little.

@neizvestnaya Ah. Is what you wanted to articulate similar to enjoying the relationship now, imperfections included and living in the present moment?

@Tbag Her, your g.f.?

@MRSHINYSHOES Basically, my heart is taken by someone I can’t call my own. So nope, not my gf, you can say best-friend.

@Tbag That’s bittersweet. But I’m glad she’s your b.f. ;)

The answer is the same for the past, the present, and the future. The people I love are the most important to me. Thank God that I love and am loved.
