Romance and money… many times not in that order.

To be listened to and appreciated.

A yacht, a mansion on the hill overlooking the ocean, an unlimited clothing budget, several servants including a hunky male masseuse. They want to look and be better than all the other women.

And hey, if they can fit it it, they want a man they can enjoy talking to. Also kids. And a nanny.

Yep. That’s what women want. Every single god-fearin’ one of ‘em!

I have no idea. I mean, there’s a lot of women on the planet. How could I possibly have an opinion about what they all want with their significant other (considering I don’t know most of them either)? And why ask only men? What if some women’s SO is another woman (lesbians I believe their called)? Then I’d be doubley unqualified to answer. I mean, that’s a lot if work right…huh?!?

What? OH! You just want us to make a broad generalization based on a stereotype. Ahh, I see.

Well then…
1) Money
2) Clothes
3) To discuss their feelings

Depends on the day. ;-)

Every once in a while, they want to get all girly and dressed up and taken out to dinner and dancing.

Empathy. Empathy while shopping. Empathy while being entertained. Oh, and a little mind reading (which they call empathy).

I think women are unique individuals, and there is no single answer to this question.

It depends on the woman, but I guess if you want me to generalize: babies and attention.

ucme's avatar

It takes different strokes of course…wachoo talkin bout willis?
If I had to generalise i’d say most women want a multi millionaire with a big dick & a heart of gold…...scratch that, love, affection, dependability, yeah that’s more like it.

Wow, it’s just amazing. Most of the answers on the opposite board mention sex yet in here, not a single one?! What the fuck?

Well, SEX!

Love, acceptance, and cuddles.

Security, romance and respect. (not necessarily in that order)

It sounds like the men have no clue! Every one of them mentioned money, none of the women did.

Yes, what @janbb to be respected and appreciated.

digitalimpression's avatar

@Dutchess_III Having been married for quite a while I can say with 100% certainty that women want money in some form or fashion.. and not just enough to pay the bills. The woman from the titanic who fell in love with the poor guy is fictional.. or at best extremely rare.

Dutchess_III's avatar

@digitalimpression…. so the fact that you’ve been married for quite a while qualifies you to determine what the rest of the women in the world are after? I don’t get it!. Seems to me that being single and dating many women would be a better qualification albeit skewed too, as you would probably date the same type of women over and over.

I think everyone wants enough money to be comfortable and to take a vacation now and again. Not just women. Furthermore, today, women don’t have to depend on men to get their money.

cookieman's avatar

@Dutchess_III: Perhaps you missed the sarcasm in my (and @wundatta)‘s response.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Perhaps. Sorry!

Someone to treat them like crap. Someone to talk to, listen to, care for/be cared for, and, some might say most importantly, a friend.

Sher_King's avatar

hahah sorry guys- female imposter. Listen to @Joker94 he’s got the right idea. Although yes there are many gold diggers out there… what women are really looking for is STABILITY. Every woman needs stability, in any relationship. Money helps, but that doesnt mean she is looking for a billionaire. Moreover, every woman wants to be protected and feel safe by her man. So if you want to keep your women make them feel like they have a real man to go home too :)

wundayatta's avatar

The thing is, that while money isn’t the thing they focus on (mostly), as @Sher_King said, they want stability, and that takes some wherewithal. Which is why men without jobs (as many young men are) are not considered marriageable material. Now a man without a job could have prospects, and those can often stand in the stead of job or money. But a man without a job or prospects is almost universally going to be seen as a loser and not be considered a person of interest.

When you are a man with no job, it’s hard to think any woman would be interested. And yet, given the number of women who do seem to fall for losers, and fall deeply for them, one wonders what they have going for them? Maybe it’s the nothingness of their prospects that makes them romantic, somehow. Or maybe it’s the way they pursue women and make them feel desired.

And that is something I have found very effective on women—they want to be desired. They want to be wanted. Preferably by someone they like or who is a least potentially likable.

To know what you are thinking.

An ugly guy so they know he won’t cheat on her.

Woman, here. Giving the same answer I gave in the other thread:

My husband and I want pretty much the same things in a partner. One who values our own independence, accepts and loves us just as we are, who doesn’t need us… but wants to be with us anyway, brings no unnecessary drama to the relationship and, most importantly: doesn’t nag us about ridiculous shit. Sex is good, too, but it’s kind of the icing on the cake. It’s not the cake, itself. Lucky we found each other, eh?

Addendum: Money in no way figures in to all of this. I was married to a man much better off, financially, prior to this marriage. I am far happier with my poor second husband than I was with my well-off first husband.

Cunnilingus and someone who listens? Oh and chocolate.
And money.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Chocolate! No. Wait someone who is sensitive enough to know that I’m on a diet so would never bring home chocolate during that time.
So, flowers! No. Wait. Someone who knows me well enough to know that I think spending boo boo bucks on flowers that are just going to DIE is STUPID!
So….someone who knows me well enough to bring home something, any little thing, because they know that I would love it.

woodcutter's avatar

@Dutchess_III So what am I thinking now?

Dutchess_III's avatar

You’re thinking I don’t know you at all!

woodcutter's avatar

@Dutchess_III I was trolling for a clue there.

jonsblond's avatar

<———woman . I want someone to laugh with and someone who will always have my back (it’d be nice if he could rub my back now and then too.) :)

I’m a lucky girl to have found what I wanted
