Sunday night, do you enjoy it as much as Saturday night or spend it dreading Monday?

Asked by mazingerz88 (28814points) December 4th, 2011

In case you have different regular days off, the question’s intent still stands, how do you feel and what do you do the night before a work week? Thanks.

Now that I’m no longer in school, Sunday night is longer a thing to be feared, despised and hated. I used to hate Sunday nights, but now that my work schedule is not fixed and I may or may not have work on a Monday, I like Sunday nights. I usually sit in my apartment and catch up on my TV-watching or hanging with a friend. Sunday night is a big food-experimentation night for me.

I don’t enjoy it as much as Saturday night… Definitely dread Monday, that appears to be the beginning of responsibility again, sensibility perhaps…maybe I shouldn’t do sensible this week….

I’m not somebody who saves work till the last minute so my Sunday night isn’t usually full of panicky work, but I still don’t like it nearly as much. For one thing, I have to get to bed at a sane time, and for another, I looooove the feeling of a weekend stretched out before me.

I spend it hustling around trying to get things ready for Mondays. Mondays are horrid around the music hall, so I like to get everything ready and brace myself.

I enjoy Sunday nights more than Saturday nights. The TV choices are more interesting to me. It seems more relaxing. I can actually get away from feeling I have to do something..

Thirsty Thursday, Fucked-up Friday, Smashed Saturday, Sober Sunday

On one hand, I like that I don’t have to think about going out or who might be doing something fun or what they’re doing (and I’m also not someone who leaves all the work until Sunday night), but there’s definitely something “disappointing” about Sunday night as a return to routine, a return to school and work, etc. Still, Sunday’s are usually my most relaxed days and that’s all I’m doing now, even with finals coming up :)

I enjoy it while I have it, but I may go to bed a little earlier.

Sunday creates a lot of anxiety for me usually because I realize that all the things I wanted to do on the weekend, that seemed so doable on Friday, haven’t really materialized. I just set myself up for failure really because I want to do so many things in 2 days that it would be virtually impossible to succeed. So I try to squeeze out as much as I can from what I see as my last moments of freedom. It’s not that I hate my job, it’s just that I feel pressure to perform there and also, I hate that all my time is so regulated by my daily routine. On weekends it is a real joy to go where I want to go and do what I want to do.

I spend my nights before work (after a few days off) the same way I spend the other nights. I don’t let the fact that I have to go to work in the morning ruin my nice night at home with my family. Most of the time, we are home and just enjoying the time together.

I look forward to going to work. Except…on Monday’s I have to work 12 hours. I try not to think about that.

Sunday is a day to take it easy. Monday is just another opportunity to make some money. Which I need. Thank God for Monday. Through Friday.

Sundays are much less enjoyable than Saturdays and even Fridays, due to the fact that I know tomorrow is Monday and I have to get up early for school. And the fact that I have to do any homework that I neglected to do on Friday/Saturday.

I think about how i will enjoy Monday. Its my “me” time. Aaahhhhhh!

I enjoy it, but surely not as much as Saturday nights. Mostly because I have to force myself to bed earlier and not drink so much.

Nope, it’s spent dreading Monday. I’m not a morning person.

Sunday evenings are nothing like the rich feeling of Friday and Saturday. I feel a lot the way earthgirl describes things except that if insomnia factors in, it often occurs Sunday night.

I don’t tend to dread Mondays so I enjoy Sunday night if I can spend it relaxing. I like Saturday nights more though because that’s when my boyfriend and I can both spend time together without any interruptions/other commitments.
