How do you delete ALL emails from Yahoo Mail on an iMac?

Got an iMac but have many emails that, after clicking “delete” pop back on. Anybody else have this problem?

So far, what I do is click on the trash sign button to delete when the message is on display and it stays deleted that way.

Thank you but when I do that it says, “There are no emails in your Trash folder.” And the email remains…I tried, though.
