Is there a way to copy notes plus citations from kindle app that I use on my ipad?

Asked by Bowpeops (6points) July 27th, 2013

I am doing research and have many of my books on my Kindle iPad app. I would like to be able to export my highlighted quotes from my Kindle app into a Word document or email so I don’t have to re-type them into my papers. This must be a common problem for writers. I wonder if anyone knows of an app or method of exporting highlighted text, ideally along with the citation information, from a Kindle iPad app.

Well, it’s in Amazon’s interest to make sure the text of their books is not in text format. So, you can’t do it within the app. You should be able to do the following, which I just did in Android:

- Take screenshots of the highlighted quotes.
– Use an OCR app that takes images (your screenshots) and turns them into plain text.

Sorry I don’t have a specific iPad app to recommend, but it appears that there are some apps in iOS that do this as well.
