Did you play in the snow today?

Asked by RealEyesRealizeRealLies (30951points) January 5th, 2014

I did. I’ve been waiting for this snow since the last storm March 2011. Finally got to add to my Frozen Golem collection today.

But as bad as it is today in St. Louis, it pales in comparison to the blizzard back on March 26, 2011. Here’s some from then.

Hope we get another big blizzard soon. There’s so many great sculptures that I didn’t get to today. Not easy getting around in this stuff.

I suppose I should instead of being cooped up indoors all day. But now it’s raining. I have shopping to do.

I did last night when the temps were still bearable. I had always hoped for a snowstorm on my birthday and I finally got one.

It was too cold today to go out. The most I could handle was the time it took for my dogs to take care of their business. We have a wind chill warning today until Tuesday afternoon.

Spent the day sledding with the kids.

I haven’t and really want to!

Nope, I pulled a 16 hour day – and now the rain is washing it all away. Better luck with tomorrow’s snowfall.

Happy birthday, @jonsblond!

It was such a nice day, and so warm with no breeze that I ran around the local reservoir (2.7 miles) in running shorts and a cotton t-shirt twice.

Now in reading the responses I’m wondering if a) anybody looked at the links and b) realized that you were the photographer

I love the shots! #3 made me cringe. It’s got to be nippy with that white stuff in his lap. No wonder he’s that color and stiff. ;-)

I threw a snowball at a tree. I try to do it every time it snows.

It was almost 60°F when I woke up at 5:30, it also rained through the night, so the several inches of snow that were there when I fell asleep had mostly melted. Tonight’s low is forecast to be 8°F, with a wicked wind chill making it feel sub-zero. I don’t recall ever seeing such a tremendous swing in temperature (we were in single digits a couple days ago, too).

I love your photos! #6 and 8 (is that Shakespeare?) are my favorite.

Well today I have to, and it’s my Friday the north part of my run got hit last night, not enough to not go, but enough to turn the roads to pure hell.

yesterday I shuffled thru’ about 3 inches of snow. I could smell it. I haven’t seen snow in literally years. I wanted to lay down and make a snow angel but it really wasn’t deep enough – I would have ruined by coat.

It was crispy and twinkled but the falling snow wasn’t like the snow I’m used to. No large flakes to see and identify. You just put your hand out you could feel the separate drops – maybe close to raindrops. I was still moved but I miss seeing large flakes of snow slowly drifting down to the ground.
