How to check plagiarism in research paper?

I am a teacher and share documents with students frequently. I want to know a source for reducing plagiarism.

At my university we are often required to submit our work via Turnitin. That’s the only one I’ve ever heard of, and I know many other universities and schools where I am use it.

yes, you can have students run their papers through turnitin.com to check it against a database of essays for plagiarism. I beliee your institution has to set up an account with them.

If your institution doesn’t have turnitin set up, you can also use Small SEO Tools. It’s free, but does require some more digging on your part (checking each of the links to see how much language the student borrowed, pursuing sections the checker had trouble locating, etc.) It also has a word count limit, so you might have to do the paper in waves if it is a longer assignment.

I caught at least six instances of plagiarism using this tool last semester alone.
