Why does the media show that men sometimes appear to prefer steak over vegetables when in contrast to women ?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24468points) March 2nd, 2018

I was watching BBQ pitmasters on YouTube and was wondering about where did male preferences towards meat come about? Is it genetic throw back from cave man days where men are hunters and womem gatherers?

Like diamond wedding rings, I would chalk this one up to advertising. When I was a kid there were ads like.. Protein makes men manly.. Eat a steak and get big and strong. Paid for by the beef lobby.

I barely eat any meat. But I have watched my sister devour a bucket from KFC and it is sickening.

You’re talking about the ad breaks whereas back on the show you’re allowed to watch, It’s balances out them showing that what women want is meat and two veg.

meat=animal=hunter=manly.
It is a sexist stereotype.

Steak is fattening and men don’t think about that too much. Vegetables are lower in fat and calories, which is what women want if they value their shapely figures.

I am a lady, and I prefer steak to any vegetables. I like to have both meat and vegetables, and that is natural, since humans are omnivores, not herbivores or carnivores.
