It was originally meant to be a television series. When it was rejected, they recut it, and put it in theaters to great acclaim.
I won’t say it’s complicated, because then it would have to make sense. It doesn’t, but it can be quite a long, strange trip.
Just kick back and enjoy it.

We gave up ¾ths of the way through. It was like some surreal, masculine driven acid trip.

I love it. I think it’s Lynch’s most coherent movie. If you are not familiar with his work I can see how the movie could be confusing.
