How to remove or color over a background you drew lineart on on accident in Sketchbook?

Asked by Pinkcottonfluffs (36points) April 11th, 2019 from iPhone

My girlfriend was drawing a picture in sketchbook and had a red background (not solid, like a big splotch on an actual layer) and she accidentally drew her lineart on the same layer. is there a way to get rid of this background color or a special trick to coloring over a background color and not over black lines that anyone knows?

Scrape the paper with an X-acto© blade to remove the paper and color.
