Why is this telling me Paint can't read this image?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46814points) February 19th, 2020

It’s reading all the negatives and the positives I scanned, but I switched to scanning actual hard copy photograhs. It scanned them OK, but I get this message. Says it’s in the wrong format for paint.
Everything looks ok in Properties of the pictures. It’s a JPG file.

Any ideas what is up? I could take a screen print and take THAT in to paint to crop, but I’d rather fix it.

Email the file to me. I’ll take a look at it in one of my programs and see if I can convert it for you

It’s saying it’s 13,813K. It’s loading really slow. Is that huge?

Yes. That’s huge. That may be part of your problem. I can downsize it for you.
