General Question

I have a lot of duplicates in my photo collection, the same picture appearing in different folders, different slide shows. It's a mess. Help!

Is there software that can easily identify duplicates so that I can delete them?
I hoped that by uploading everything to Google Photos, the site might have the capability to point out the dupes, but apparently it does not.

There certainly is software designed to find duplicate files.

This looks like the best link but there are others. All identify but you may have to delete manually:

Make rough (copy paper) copies, in order, of all, then decide which to delete, then go back in and delete.
