Any one out there a release management engineer?

Could someone give me an opinion on this type of job. Can it get boring? Is there some sort of career path?

Release Manager was a great job. You are central to show and get great exposure. Anything but boring, in my experience. You may rise up in IT, or on the Business side (e.g. product manager/etc.). How did it go, three years on now?
