I was really lucky! I got two tickets for a concert my husband was in. The concert has been sold out for months (and sold out before he was asked to participate). Tickets were in high demand and would sell on Ebay within a minute or two. So finding two tickets, day-of, at a discount was pretty special!

I invited my mum and had a really fun evening. It was a Queen concert, but at a concert hall and reimagined with a full symphony. My husband was in the accompanying choir. I never listened to Queen much, but this concert blew my mind. The choir was “incognito” at first, appearing to be part of the audience. In the middle of the song ”Who Wants to Live Forever”, they suddenly got up and started singing. Like a flashmob of amazing voices!

Usually I am quick to hit these questions with humor. Not this time.
The batteries in my wheelchair were very low. i tried to plug in to charge up at a VA building. wires crossed or whatever, there was a pop, a puff of smoke, and my charger fried. One of the prongs melted. I am now stranded outside Walmart, with an undetermined small amount of power. I got myself this far in hopes of being near restrooms and access to food while I try to achieve a solution. Also, this location gives me access to wifi. So far, my best hope is that a friend can bring me a poor replacement chair Sunday.

At least, I didn’t witness any jihad terrorism.

Omg @Patty_Melt! That’s truly horrible! I’m sorry life is sh***y for you right now. Couldn’t anyone at the VA help you? I think I would have just camped there until someone came to my rescue.

They had no equipment available.
Some parts of the country just don’t equip VA very well to be of value to vets.
I can contact a VA service in a neighboring city and request a scooter or chair, but then i would have to get there.
My friend, though mobility challenged himself, managed to push my chair to his home. He is in the process of moving in, so no furniture yet, so I sit here on the floor, waiting for him to be able to bring me a temporary replacement chair. At least I’m finally indoors.

EDITED TO ADD – I expect to finally have a home soon. Please keep some good thoughts for me to be successful with my search.

Bless your friend! And yes, I’ll definitely be sending my best thoughts your way for a place to live! You deserve it!
