Your experience with Gymnema sylvestre's effect on sweet taste.

Asked by boozjee (15points) December 2nd, 2008

I have no interest in its other properties at this time. Just its ability to impair the taste of sugar. It reportedly does it without altering the perception of the other primary tastes.

I’m looking for opinions from anyone who has PERSONAL experience with it. Someone who has drank tea made from an infusion of Gymnema sylvestre leaves, or taken it in pill form, or chewed the leaves. Did you notice a significant change in the taste of sweets? I understand that the effect is shortlived, but I’d like to know if it helped you resist sweets.
