Care to share any New Year's resolutions?

Asked by SoapChef (2978points) December 26th, 2008

You knew this was gonna happen.
Oops, I did a quick look and didn’t see this topic, til it came up in siblings. You don’t need to point it out to me. Maybe, you have some new ones now that Christmas is over. ;0)

Yes. This year I resolve never to make New Year’s resolutions.

To not eat spinach or broccoli this year…it will be hard but I think I will be able to follow through…

to not care as much, to not get caught up in things that aren’t going to matter. stuff of that nature.

I am going to limit myself to one cocktail when out for dinner. The cost of drinking at dinner is astronomical and I want to try to save a little bit more money this year.

I don’t usually make any because enough things come along in daily life to feel guilty about. I even resolved one year not to do guilt and couldn’t manage to keep the resolution. And then I felt guilty….

But I am thinking that it is time and past time to make a new and better commitment to health and diet.

I am also resolving to take January 20th off and watch TV.

I don’t do resolutions. They never stick because things change or just don’t play out as planned.
Having said that, I like the idea of a personal motto or quote for the year. For 2009 it’ll be: “new year, new courage!” because I want to take more risks, try new things, etc.
...we’ll see how it goes :)

I’m giving up eating kitchen tile.

I don’t make new years’ resolutions, because the guilt when I break them is pointless. I have enough guilt as it is.

I make resolutions but its not really on the “New Year day”. Its more somewhere in the middle of the year or whenever I feel like making one.

I have resolved not to shop compulsively: limit shopping to try to save money.

Once a few years ago I decided to go on a “clothes diet” and i did not allow myself to buy any clothes or jewelry at all for a whole month. it really saved me money. i get compulsive/impulsive when i shop and i tend to buy things based on price that i don’t necessarily need.
