Tie one leg to one horse, the other leg to another horse, and yell “Gidde Up!”

Many strength training excersises, pullups, push ups combined with aerobic activity and dieting. Muscle must be added, fat must be lost and then vary the routines constantly to cause muscle confusion.
Check out these dudes for extreme. When you can do this you are ripped—->“link” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLCWMVkMLSs

Proper nutrition and a proper exercise routine. Consulting with a trainer and possibly a nutritionist will allow you to get the proper information for your goals and body/exercise type. Nutrition wise, you’ll probably be eating a lot of protein (skinless chicken breasts, egg whites) to help fuel the rebuilding of your muscles. Exercise wise, you should get a good workout of all your major muscle groups, likely focusing on heavier weights and less reps versus lighter weights and more reps.

I’ll get this out of the way: steroids are not effective in the least bit for long term, healthy muscular growth.

From personal experience, if you want to get ripped in a short amount of time, look around for a Kettlebell (or girya) class. It’s basically weight/strength training, the shape of the bell lets you do a different set of moves versus using a dumbbell or other free weights. These different sets of moves allow you to effectively exercise every muscle group in a workout with only one piece of equipment.

Speaking of muscle confusion, I just came across this workout but from what I hear it is pretty intense!

[Mod says] Please refrain from derailing threads with snarky/sardonic comments until after there have been some legitimate answers posted. It is frustrating to many users (questioners and answerers alike) to have a proper question quickly degenerate into jokes, asides and chatter. New guidelines are forthcoming that address this very issue. Until then, we are intervening in threads in order to curtail this behavior and are asking users to voluntarily restrain their witticisms until well after a question has received real answers.

i can vouch for a trainning routine used by a couple of my patients (thinking about starting it next week actually)... it’s a video series or something and you use resistence bands and other stuff.. also it has a meal plan… it’s called Power 90 or something… and there’s a next step called 90X i think… the gist of it is… one patient (which happens to be one of my oldest friends) dropped like 25 pounds and got RIPPED…. the thing is… it takes a bit of a commitment…. so.. you might want to check it out

@fireside yeah the p90x is pretty intense, I started it, but got sick for a couple weeks and broke my routine. I don’t know what the results look like first hand yet but it def kicks your ass. (if you stick to it) I was thinking of mixing it up a bit though, I was gonna do the arm and back and other weight exercises it has, but for the cardio, I was just going to run since I need to start doing that too. Either way if you do the work that it wants you to do you will see results.
