Any good photography spots in Rosemont, IL?

Asked by Tearofdeception (128points) August 12th, 2009

I’m going to the iHobby exposition this October 24th – 25th, and I wanted to know if there was any good spots for photoshoots or if there’s any good landmarks picture worthy. I’m from Ottawa, Canada, it’s a 13 hour drive. Any suggestions?

Well, you are only 30 minutes from Chicago with the Lake, the marvelous architecture, the neighborhoods. That’s where I would go in my free time.

I second what @Marina said. you’ve really very very close to all things Chicago from that point. Hop on the Blue Line at O’Hare (which is actually in Rosemont), and take yourself downtown.

If you want to drive yourself to the Lake, take Touhy or Devon and head due east. You’ll eventually come to the Lakefront. I think it’s something like 13–20miles from the airport this route. Just below Devon on the lakefront is Granville. On Granville, just a block up from the lake is Metropolis Coffee, one of my favorite places for a cup in Chicago.
Also, at Granville is the Red Line of the El, and from there you can go straight downtown.

Likewise, you could take some cool shots of O’Hare.

Just don’t let the cops find you doing this. :)

Drive to the city of Chicago (about 30 mins away). Rosemont is pretty much a hotel/airport town, so the only place I could see that’s good for photos is O’hare International Airport.
