I would like to know if one of the current Dell PC Desktops spec would be a good machine to use for serious Vsti based Computer Music Production?

Maybe, but it’s not designed for this purpose. That means you may have problems with bad Firewire controllers, resource sharing (IRQs), and generally bad performance from network controller drivers, etc (DPCs)

VSTis are especially power hungry, and need an optimized system to really get the most out of them.

For the same money, or less, you can but a specialized DAW computer from a reputable builder. Also, they will provide support that you would otherwise not receive from a general computing company. Here’s a few I can whole-heartedly recommend:

Good luck!
