LCD is better and cheaper it doesn’t break as easy

Under 36” get an LCD. They’re cheaper and offer excellent reliabilty and features. Larger than 36”, plasma still gives the best image quality.

Thehy both have pros and cons. LCD will be the dominant type of TV in the future as the TV’s get better refresh rates, viewing angles, and become cheaper to manufacture. I personally like Plasma the best myself. I’m plannign to buy a 42” plasma at some point soon.

What brand would the collective suggest for an = or < 36” LCD? (Is there a symbol on Mac keyboard for “equal to or less than?”)

I was looking for a cheap way to start moving my entertainment system over to HD, so I wound up getting a Westinghouse 32” . I’ve had it about a week, and so far its been very impressive for the price.

Plasma definitely gives off a better color than a larger LCD display will, however, they tend to cost more and are harder to transport (i.e. you can not tilt a plasma screen on it’s side. It must always stay upright or will be ruined)

That and LCD screens are now sharper and much cheaper than they were just a few years ago. We will most likely see this progress with OLED technology within the next couple of years.
